Lee's History

It all started with a calm morning on the water. The sun had just started to rise over the Puget Sound, casting a golden glow across the harbor. Lee, a longtime local with a deep love for the Pacific Northwest, stood quietly on his paddleboard, taking in the sight of Mount Rainier in the distance.

For years, Lee had explored the inlets and coves of Gig Harbor by paddleboard, finding peace in its stillness and wonder in its hidden beauty. The seals, the herons, the gentle rhythm of the tide—this was his sanctuary. Something always tugged at him: more people should get to see this, to feel this.

That’s when the idea took root.

Lee decided to start a stand-up paddleboard business in the fall of 2011—not just as a rental shop, but as a way to connect the community to the natural beauty right in their backyard. He wanted visitors and locals alike to experience Gig Harbor from the water, to understand why he fell in love with it in the first place. Whether it was a quiet solo paddle at sunrise or a family outing in the afternoon sun, Lee’s goal was simple: to help people slow down, look around, and fall in love with the harbor too.

Today, Lee’s SUP business is more than just boards and paddles. It’s a gathering place. A launchpad for adventure. A tribute to a town where nature and community come together on the water.
